One of the important agenda items of the meeting was the grain agreement issue, to which Moscow withdrew unilaterally.

The two ministers held a joint press conference after the meeting.

Lavrov began his speech by saying that the two countries "have a very rich dialogue and practical cooperation on regional and international issues" apart from the "bilateral agenda".

Indicating that an informal meeting will be held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the near future, Lavrov said, referring to his meeting with Fidan, "I see that bilateral relations are developing rapidly and that the relations between President Putin and President Erdogan, who communicate regularly, are especially intense at the highest level. "We noted that a political dialogue based on trust is ongoing. Many phone calls and face-to-face meetings were held, and another informal summit is expected in the near future where all aspects of our partnership will be discussed," he said.
