The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 48.58% annually and by 2.88% monthly. The change in the CPI (2003=100) for October 2024 was 2.88% compared to the previous month, 39.77% compared to December of the previous year, 48.58% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 62.02% based on twelve-month averages.

Among main expenditure groups, the transportation group showed the lowest increase compared to the same month of the previous year, at 26.14%. In contrast, the education group saw the highest increase at 93.66% compared to the same month of the previous year.
In terms of main expenditure groups, the group with the most significant decrease in October 2024 compared to the previous month was transportation, with a drop of -0.54%. On the other hand, the group with the highest increase compared to the previous month was clothing and footwear, with a rise of 14.32% (indices, weights, and rates of change by main expenditure groups can be found in Supplementary Table-1).
Among the 143 main items covered in the index (5-digit level Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP), 26 main items showed a decrease as of October 2024, while 7 items showed no change. The index for 110 main items showed an increase.
The special CPI indicator (B) showed an annual increase of 47.10% and a monthly increase of 2.69% Excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, the CPI in October 2024 increased by 2.69% compared to the previous month, 40.12% compared to December of the previous year, 47.10% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 62.65% based on twelve-month averages.
